Neighborhood Garden

St. Michael's Neighborhood Garden is open to all gardeners in the surrounding neighborhood who don't have a spot to grow veggies and flowers.

We are anxious to begin work in preparation for the 2018 gardening season!  A letter will be sent out with details, dates and guidelines within the next two weeks, which include the date of the kick-off meeting and the deadline to receive payment for garden plots.

As you may know, we were awarded a grant from DIG IN! City Green and Passaic County Community Garden and Neighborhood Farming Program at the end of the 2017 gardening season.  We are in the process of planning a workday to build wood borders around each of the plots in the garden to create raised beds.  Someone from City Green will come out and help guide us in building these borders.   The building workday is tentatively set for Friday 3/30/18, weather permitting.

Please come to the garden this Saturday, 3/24/18, we will be there from 9AM until Noon.  We will be prepared to receive payment and assign plots for the 2018 season. We will work together to remove any of the existing borders on the plots, clear and remove all vegetative and non-vegetative materials as necessary to ready the plots for the wooden borders.  Please bring garden tools if you have them and wear your garden gloves! Email or call and leave a message to let us know if you can make it Saturday, send me any thoughts, questions or concerns.

Assignments will be made when plot fee is collected for the 2018 season.  For gardeners from 2017, the same plot(s) may be assigned for this season, a maximum of 2 plots per person.

*Fee for each plot:

$25 for 4' x 12' for the season

$35 for 4' x 18' for the season

 Let's grow together!
